OKC Pets Magazine Nov/Dec 2020
November/December 2020 • OKC Pets 33 T here is no doubt Oklahoma City has grown to be one of the state’s premier entertainment destinations with a wide selection of events to choose from weekly. Many of these events welcome our furry four-legged companions. For most of us, our companionship with our pups is much the same as with any other family member. Our pets are an integral part of our lives, and when they have to be left at home for any reason, they are sad. We, in turn, are heartbroken by the look in their eyes. This is why I am putting forth extra effort into discovering new and exciting events where our furry friends are welcome and our bonds of companionship with them can be strengthened through a higher level of social connectivity. My most recent discovery was made accidentally as I was home on a beautiful Sunday with relatively no plans. Of course, like any responsible adult, I have to do my weekly house cleaning chores, and because I decided to go to college later in life, I had several homework assignments that required my attention. I’m not sure how your pups are but mine (Lancelot and Jake) feel the need to be right beside me in every room (bathroom included). Several pet experts have explained to me this behavior is common and quite natural as the dog is a pack animal, and it is instinctual for them to want that feeling of togetherness.
