March/April 2021 • OKC Pets 21 Ruby’s K9 Corral Where dogs are their passion WRITTEN BY: Kaycee Chance • PHOTOS BY: Linda Earley R uby’s K9 Corral is a locally owned and operated all-inclusive dog resort run by owners Vicky and Ryan, who pride them- selves on offering a wide variety of services, such as boarding, daycare, grooming and training. Vicky has an extensive background in animal care with over 30 years of experience working in vet clinics and grooming facilities. She also has extensive experience working as a nurse, so she’s equipped to handle any medical needs that may arise. Over the course of those aforementioned 30 years, Vicky and Ryan traveled the country for his career. Along their travels, they found it was often difficult to locate a boarding or daycare facility where they felt safe leaving their beloved canine companions. “We had a really difficult time finding places we truly felt comfortable leaving our dogs,” Vicky explains, continuing that she always planted the seeds in her husband’s head that a boarding facility was something they could do. “Giving owners peace of mind while their beloved dog is under our care is really my big- gest inspiration for starting the Corral,” Vicky explains. After moving around for years and keeping the dream of owning a boarding facility close to her heart, the dream finally came true in 2017 when Vicky and Ryan moved to Oklahoma and purchased land in Blanchard. Named after their beloved rescue Hungarian Vizsla, Ruby’s K9 Corral opened its doors in May of 2017 and has been serving the community ever since. Kenzie Sullivan during playtime.
