She found the intense art to be a perfect fit for her per- sonality, and she soon committed to learning it well. After the death of her son in 2015, Shari could still find peace when focusing on molten glass. She began making memorial designs to honor her son’s memory and evoke positive emotions. Soon after, others mourning the loss of a family member began asking her to make memorial designs with their loved one’s ashes, and Heavenly Glass was born. With a dusting (less than a teaspoon) of your loved one’s ashes, Heavenly Glass provides unique personalized memorials, safely preserved, for family members to hold and remember forever. Heavenly Glass was solely created to help loved ones heal, including Shari. “Finding ways to help myself and others cope with loss became a part of who I am,” she says. While she loves many things about her job, Shari especially enjoys serving customers by helping them deal with loss in a beautiful, meaningful way. “I know how much it helped me to have a beautiful glass memorial to hold and see in a new light each day,” she says. “Now I get the joy and privilege of seeing how much they help others when they need help grieving too. “I love seeing someone hold their memorial for the first time and give themselves permission to feel what they feel and let it be what it is— then breathe through to a smile as they begin to remember their loved one and reconnect with their feelings for them again. I know these memorials can provide them the opportunity to experience these feelings whenever they need to. This is my greatest hope for my art and my customers, and it’s a blessing to be a part of that process.” Shari also creates pet memorials for furry family members and even those of the feathered or scaled variety. Memorials can be ordered through your veterinarian. “I am happy to be partnered with all the local Oklahoma City area pet cremation centers who work through all the veterinary clinics,” Shari adds.
