No two orders are alike. We treat each customer like they are our ‘only’ customer and enjoy developing relationships with them.” Alicia says she ended up in the floral design business by divine inspiration. “As a senior in high school, being asked the famous question: ‘What do you want to do for a career?’ I lived in a small town that had a flower shop and felt God was telling me to go work there. I said, ‘I like flowers. … why not?’ “I started out as a part-time delivery driver for that flower shop. I have worked my way up in the industry and have held a job experienc- ing every job opportunity in the retail florist shop. I have owned Lilygrass since 2011 and still I think, ‘I own a what?’ I tell people that God dropped Lilygrass into my lap and said, ‘Here you go.’” As a self-described “major cat and dog lover,” Alicia’s three dogs, aka her “babies,” accompany her to work daily—Baloo, a black Retriever; Chloe, a Sheltie; and Rosco, a Pomeranian. “We have customers that come in regu- larly for love from the dogs. They even have admirers from FedEx and Ozark that bring them treats every time they have deliveries to Lilygrass,” she says. An active volunteer foster for All Paws Rescue, Alicia says Lilygrass is a pet-friendly business; dogs and cats are always welcome with their parents.  “Never leave them in the car,” she adds. “My specialty is kittens. … I get the best of both worlds! I play with flowers and animals all day, every day!” 9431 N.
