OkcPets Magazine May 2022

May/June 2022 • OKC Pets 33 EXPERIENCED GROOMER NEEDED! “I have my own private practice called Progress Not Perfection Counseling,” Ms. Fitzpatrick said. “Right now, I’m located in central OKC, but once we get open, I will move my practice into a private area in the cat café. I’ll be there on site to operate the business, but my clients will also be there, and they’re all very excited.” Her husband added, “We would like to incorporate elements of mental health into our business as well. We’re not sure exactly what that’s going to look like yet, but mental health is important to us. Be- ing around cats can be very therapeutic.” Although both the Fitzpatricks were raised in small, rural Oklahoma commu- nities, they are dedicated to giving back to their current city. At its heart, Don’t Stress Meowt will be about building community and giving back. “We want to build friendships, build our city, and then impact and increase cat adoption rates. We want to bring everybody together and build that sense of unity among people,” said Fitzpatrick. “We want to be a little oasis for togeth- erness here in our city. We both have successful careers, so we don’t need to make a dollar off this. We are doing it because we want to invest heavily back into our community in a philanthropic capacity as much as possible. We’re just looking to make an impact and use this as an opportunity for change in our community.” For more information about Don’t Stress Meowt, visit https://dontstressme- owt-catcafe.com.
