Since 2016, owner/photographer Kathy Thompson has been combining her passion for animals with her talents behind the camera. “I’ve always loved animals,” she says. “I knew I always wanted to work with animals.” Customers can expect exceptional com- munication throughout every step of the multiple visit process. First, there is a meet and greet to test out various factors including the studio, different treats, the flash, and the sound of the shutter. “Your pets, your input, your unique style and home decor are all con- sidered in designing the perfect session,” Thompson says. The photo session will include lots of love and treats as Thompson works to capture the expressions and poses that will ultimately become the “quality photos that you’ll want to hang on your walls.” Next will be a meeting to review, select and order the desired images. Every image undergoes professional retouching and photo finishing. The customer experience culminates with in-person delivery of the finished portraits to the customer’s home. Thompson, a proud owner of several cats and dogs, knows that there are many animals in need of a home. OKKat Pho- tography volunteers with Oklahoma City Animal Welfare in their flash foster pro- gram, taking photos of sheltered dogs for no charge and donating them to help with adoption efforts. This year, she is offering foster-based rescue photos as well. Why does Thompson love pet photog- raphy? “Animals are never going to give me anybody that they are not,” she says. “They give me exactly who they are in that moment.” OKKat Photography is also currently running a Breed of the Month contest.
