Lost Creek Safari Does the opportunity to feed animals such as lemurs, camels, water buffalo, or kan- garoos sound like fun to you? How about taking pictures with a baby wallaby? If so, head to Stillwater to check out Lost Creek Safari. It opened nine years ago, is certified by the United States Department of Agri- culture, and provides a great combination of affordability and fun. Entry is $11 for adults and $8 for children, but you can make the most of your experience by adding a feed cup for $5 or taking a picture holding a baby goat or wallaby for $2. Nomad’s Animal Encounter Nomad’s Animal Encounter operates in Seminole as a wildlife education center. Visitors can expect a tour guide to take them into animal habitats, with the oppor- tunity to interact with and feed a variety of animals. They include babydoll sheep, miniature donkeys, foxes, wolves, coyotes, deer, porcupines, red kangaroos, and other species. Tours must be booked in advance and can accommodate as many as 10 people at $35 per person. This price gets you any- where from an hour to two-and-a-half hours up close and personal with the animals. Oasis Animal Adventures “Gateway to the heart” is the motto of Oasis Animal Adventures in Eucha, and the staff hopes each of the animals will touch your heart. Experiences are by appointment only. They include encounters with zebras, kangaroos, ring-tailed lemurs, camels, North African sulcata tortoises, standard horses, miniature horses, and donkeys. Going beyond just offering animal experiences, Oasis is also certified through the OK Corral Series to provide services to people in need of animal therapy, such as special-needs children or adults, at-risk youngsters, or victims of trafficking. PAWsitively Wild Animal Encounters and Education Center Sloth lovers are sure to get an experience like no other at PAWsitively Wild Animal Encounters and Education Center. Take a road trip to Atoka, and for $40, you will be greeted by resident sloth Flash. The price includes as long as 10 minutes of petting Flash and feeding him his favorite snacks. You can even book a private party and have a sloth encounter added on for all your guests. If you aren’t sure yet about dishing out the cash for an encounter, PAWsitively has plenty of other animals too, and you can see them for a $10 entry fee. Snider Family Exotics If getting close to more than 40 species sounds exciting to you, drive to Fletcher to check out Snider Family Exotics. This hands-on zoo costs $8 per person and prides itself in its animal experiences, such as being allowed to hold or touch the animal and take a photo. Some of the animals include emus, foxes, ostriches, deer, zebras, skunks, camels, and monkeys.
