28 OklahomaHorses • September/October 2021 Edwards Canvas Inc. W ith Oklahoma roots going back to its founding in 1957, Edwards Canvas Inc. prides itself on doing business the old-time way and “covering the U.S.A.” From its single location in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Edward Canvas designs and manufactures one of the largest lines of canvas products in the United States. Examples include tarps and protective covers for use in transportation, build- ing, industry, the military, government, camping, leisure, farm, and ranch. Edwards makes many products targeted to horses and horse events, including rollup arena and barn curtains to reduce wind, cold, and rain, with 85 percent to 90 percent blockage. The curtains have heavy-duty hardware reinforced with nylon webbing. Fixed opening positions for variable ventila- tion provide ultimate protection econom- ically, and tighteners eliminate wind whip and sagging. These tough, durable curtains are easily rolled from the ground, require minimum maintenance, and are designed for years of use. Some are still in use after 15 years. Other products include arena wraps, visual blockers, shades for pens and loafing areas, and covers for shavings bins, hayracks, and machinery. A wide choice of colors is available. Some products require welding but are simple to install. However, for customers who don’t want to “do it themselves,” an Edwards Canvas crew can provide installa- tion. Installation of an Edwards product in an arena 125 feet by 250 feet typically can be done in one day.
