The food at these potluck dinners is always a treat, and the history is fascinating. Come join in the fun and learn all about chuck wagons on the Chisholm Trail. Another upcoming event that Oklahoma is proud to host is the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show, slated for October 9–16 at State Fair Park at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. This 48-year-old event has grown over the years and brings people from all over the United States. If you love this breed of horse, you can’t miss this national event! This issue of Oklahoma Horses showcases two young women whose accomplishments and horsemanship skills have won honors in their home state. Fourteen-year-old Addison Criner of Coweta won the two-year-old class at the Oklahoma State 4-H Horse Show with her horse Lizzie. Kylie Myers, Miss Rodeo Oklahoma, proudly represents the state in her travels throughout the country. Congratulations to these two equestrians and horse lovers!
