March/April 2021 • TulsaPets 21 Montereau Montereau is proud to be a pet-friendly life plan community. “We know the importance and emotional well-being benefits to our res- idents of being able to bring their pets with them when they move to our community,” says Jamie Townsend, director of marketing. The community is home to approximately 50 “fur” residents. Pet owners, like resident Debbie Jacoby, can take advantage of Le Bark Park (dog park) and pet waste stations around the campus. “My dog, Mr. Tucker, and I love living at Montereau,” Jacoby says. “We enjoy taking long walks on the beautiful grounds where there is also a fun dog park! There are lots of wonderfully kind people here, and it’s so safe.” “It’s so nice to see residents out walking their dogs every day,” Townsend says. Montereau also offers dog-walking services and, for non- pet owners, the ability to enjoy visits with a community dog, Townsend adds. “For many years we have had a ‘community dog’ or two residing in our Health Center. These dogs have all been from a rescue type situation and have become beloved members of the Montereau family.” Prosperity Bank Founded in 1983, Prosperity Bank believes in a community banking philosophy, taking care of customers, businesses and communities in the areas it serves by providing financial solutions to simplify everyday financial needs. In addition to offering traditional deposit and loan products, Prosperity offers digital banking solutions, credit and debit cards, mortgage services, retail brokerage services, trust and wealth management, and cash management. “At Prosperity’s eight Tulsa-area locations, you’ll find knowl- edgeable associates ready to serve you with accuracy and a smile, time and time again. Our community banking mindset includes the furry members of our community as well,” says Tasha Hen- dershot, vice president. Fur-kids are welcome in the lobby and always receive a dog biscuit treat. “You never know what cute pup you might see while receiv- ing excellent customer service,” Hendershot says. “We always look forward to seeing our four-legged friends and their human companions, of course. The dogs brighten our workday and put a smile on our face.” McLemore Insurance Agency Since 1903, McLemore Insurance Agency has been serving Tul- sans. Predating statehood, it’s the oldest insurance provider in the area, earning a longstanding, trusted reputation. The office is pet friendly and welcomes employees’ and custom- ers’ dogs. “We have a lot of foot traffic between 20 employees, marketing reps, the postman, UPS, FedEx, etc., on a daily basis. Many bring the dogs treats, including special dog bones from Merritt’s Bakery. My wife (Chris) claims they are loaded with doggie crack!” says President John McLemore. While insuring several local animal aid and rescue organiza- tions, the company contributes back to them, explains McLemore. With a particular love for Labradors, the company supports and insures Lab Rescue of Oklahoma. And after losing their two be- loved Labs, Mac and Shadow, in recent years, the McLemores were ready to consider adopting two senior Labs but were in no hurry. Last April, sooner than expected, Vicki Dickerson, of Lab Rescue, found “the two perfect seniors” who had been surrendered to a shelter in Arkansas. “Lab Rescue of Oklahoma rescued Sage and Drake and sent them to separate foster homes. We made arrangements to meet them on a beautiful spring morning at our home,” McLemore says. “When they got out of their respective cars and met again for the first time in a couple of months, their excitement was uncon- trollable! “There was absolutely no way either Chris or I could have said no, even if we had wanted to. They immediately filled a void, and less than a year later, it seems like they have been with us their entire lives. They fit right in with our kids, grandkids and employees (even a couple that don’t really care for dogs). As I tell people all of the time, it is hard to know who rescued whom. … I never miss an opportunity to tell people, to not shop but adopt!” Geek Rescue If it boots up and turns on, Geek Rescue has you covered. They are your one-stop computer, network and IT solution provider. Bring your computer by either of their convenient drop-off locations, or give them a call and let them come to you. They provide support to homes, home-offices, and small or large businesses. Whether you need help with electronic device repair, to build a secure net- work or design a website, Geek Rescue is up for the challenge. Why does Geek Rescue choose to be a pet-friendly business? “It’s fun!” says Damon DoRemus, chief information officer. The Geek Rescue team enjoys meeting the pets they encounter in homes and businesses because “dogs are almost always in a good mood.” While employees’ pets are usually allowed in the office, for now they are staying at home, following COVID-related safety precautions. At home, DoRemus has three dogs of his own—Jake, Daisy and Molly—who prefer chasing squirrels to visiting the office anyway.
