TulsaPets Magazine March 2021

22 TulsaPets • March/April 2021 Studio D Tulsa Pet friendliness is part of the mission statement at Studio D Photography and Digital Services: “to offer every customer a full-service, family-oriented photography experience with a smile. ... and a wag of the tail.”  Owner/Manager Don Crane says, “Pets are part of so many families these days and companions to so many of our customers. They are as important to us at Studio D as they are to their families. ... and we always treat them as if they are a member of our family, too.” TulsaPets readers may recognize Studio D from their annual cutest pet photo contest as the winners are always featured in the magazine. “Our pet contest in January/Feb- ruary is easily the most popular event at Studio D,” Crane says. “We have customers who look forward to it every year, and some who call to make sure they don’t miss it. Our employ- ees enjoy meeting each pet and make friendly bets among themselves over which photos will win. (Employees aren’t allowed to judge or enter.) It’s one of my favorite months because of all the great pets who come through our doors—some have become old friends!” PET-FRIENDLY BUSINESSES FEATURE Schaudt’s Funeral Ser- vice & Cremation Care Family-owned and operated, Schaudt’s Funeral Service has facilities in Tulsa, Glen- pool and Okmulgee, and is the only firm in Tulsa and Okmulgee County to have comfort dogs on staff. Goldie and Ellie, the comfort dogs, have found a special niche at the funeral home where they soothe griev- ing families with their calming presence. With their mission statement in mind “to serve with dignity, care and understand- ing,” Schaudt’s added Goldie and Ellie, the Golden Doodles, to fill the position of “comfort companions.” Goldie and Ellie follow the lead of service dogs often used in healthcare settings, such as hospitals and nursing homes, and provide families with unconditional love and support as well as a subtle distraction from their grief. Outside of work, Goldie and Ellie are cheerful family dogs and love cuddling with their family at home, going for walks and playing in the yard. R Bar & Grill – Brookside R Bar & Grill is a dog-friendly, upscale bistro and sports bar where Fido is welcome to join you at an outdoor table. They work with local farmers to source the highest quality ingredients. The menu changes daily to focus on the freshest foods in season, but you may find items such as truffle & sage fries, crab fritters, tomato Panzanella, the R veggie burger, Buffalo mac & cheese, chicken & waffles, chimi steak, black- ened salmon and more. While humans enjoy their entrées of choice, canine patrons are served their own bowl of water. “We pamper all ‘dogs’—both two and four-legged,” says co-owner Bill Grant. “Hanging out with man’s best friend doesn’t get any better than on a cozy patio with chill music and tons of laughter.”
