Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, holiday or another special occasion, their floral designers are ready to assist with beautiful arrangements and same-day delivery. When it comes to being surrounded by the beauty and fragrance of flowers every day, Nicki Argo, president of Mary Murray’s, says, “What’s not to love?” But that’s not all she enjoys about her job. “Our customers are not merely transactions,” she says. “We are part of every one of life’s special moments from birth of a baby to wed- dings and celebrations of life. We try to build relationships with our customers, and it’s not unusual for us to develop lifelong friendships with them.” Nicki began working at Mary Murray’s during college and purchased the shop six years ago, making it her home away from home for the past 32 years. While Mary Murray’s once offered home accessories and small gifts, they no longer sell those items in order to accommodate their need for additional design space, focusing on fresh flowers, plants and vases/containers. “We actually think it was a blessing because we can concentrate on what we do best,” Nicki adds. With Mother’s Day coming soon (Sunday, May 9), Mary Murray’s can provide the perfect arrangements and personalized cards for the moms in your life. “I always recommend flowers with a long shelf life for moms,” Nicki says. “[Moms] do like specialty flowers, but they are usually short- er-lived than other flowers. Selecting a specialty vase provides a lasting reminder of their gift. “And I always recommend choosing a handwritten message on one of our handcrafted cards. Our staff creates the cards as another outlet for their creativity. The handwritten card is always more personal.” Regarding holidays, the sooner orders are placed, the better. “We recommend ordering as early as you can in advance,” Nicki advises. “We typically offer incentives to order early.
