Let their imaginations run wild with COLORS! P ets and wildlife are import- ant at Zarrow Pointe, a senior living community at 2025 East 71st Street. Residents can have cats and small dogs (less than 50 pounds) in the villas and apartments, with a typical maximum of two per household. Visitors can bring cats and leashed dogs. “Other animals can visit with special permis- sion,” says Valerie Kramer, director of marketing. “We love having animals on campus.” Therapy animals visit once a month. “We have fish in com- mon areas,” Kramer adds. Zarrow Pointe has many pet-friendly areas on and outside campus. Kramer says, “We have a designated dog park, a one- third-mile walking path, and a campus that is more than 60 acres to enjoy taking long walks with furry friends. Jeri Curtner at our front desk is our dog whis- perer. All dogs love her and can’t wait to see her. She has treats for them and special treats for those with limited diets.” Employees sometimes bring their animals to work with approval from their supervisors. “I love to bring my two standard poodles to visit, and the residents love it as well,” Kramer says. “I always set aside extra time on those days to make sure every- one gets to see my dogs.” Zarrow Pointe has geese, squirrels, and many birds. A few residents in the apartments have bird feeders on their balconies. Residents in Kaiser Health Care Center on campus have bird feeders outside some windows. In the villas, many residents have bird feeders, and one resident feeds the geese in the gated park. For more information about Zarrow Pointe, call (918) 496-8333 or visit https://zarrowpointe.org.
