‘Twas the day after holiday and after all the fuss, Not a creature was stirring except for big Gus. He had found the leftovers and to his delight, There were bones from the turkey left out overnight. Gus gobbled them up without a care in his mind, Not knowing that later they would be a pain in his behind. His owners noticed he didn’t want to play, They knew at home he couldn’t stay. Away to Hammond to get a radiograph or two, So the doctors would know what they needed to do. They knew that bones could hurt pets in many ways, They can puncture the stomach or block it for days. So surgery was the plan that was needed for Gus Because getting those bones out soon was a must! The doctors worked quickly to remove all the bones, All while Gus’ parents sat with their phones. Later that day Gus’ parents got the good news call, Now it will be a Merry Christmas for all! Don’t give your dog a bone!
